Melissa Greer

Melissa Joyce Greer, 67, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on March 13, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Ashland on November 4, 1956, to Joyce Jackson Dixon Kilburn and the late Charles Henry "Buck" Dixon. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Greer and stepfather, Wesley Kilburn.

Melissa's professional path was marked by her caring nature, as she worked as a CNA at Woodland Oaks before bringing smiles to many as a cherished part of the Giovanni’s Pizza team on Blackburn Avenue.

Melissa loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. Memories of warm summer days at the ocean and beach with her family will forever be cherished. Melissa's last words often included, "I love you to the moon and back."

Melissa's legacy lives on through her sons, Charles David Waugh, James Paul Greer, and Ronald Eugene Prater; her mother, Joyce Dixon Kilburn; her brothers, James (Marsha) Bartley and Leonard (Kathy) Dixon; her sisters, Patricia "Patty" Francis and Jeanette (Ed) Ramey; and her adored grandchildren, Luke Edward Greer, James Sawyer Greer, and Britton Davis VanHoose.

Arrangements for a celebration of Melissa's life will be announced in the coming days.
